City Walkabout ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our mobile application ("App") and related services.

By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Applicability of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to both the mobile app (available on app stores) and the web app. However, certain features differ between versions:

Mobile App Version (App Store & Play Store):

• Does not support user login via Google Authentication or Firebase Authentication.
• Does not include Scavengeabout or image verification via OpenAI API

Web App Version:

• Includes Google Login and Firebase Authentication for user accounts.
• Includes Scavengeabout and image verification via OpenAI API

Where applicable, references to login, authentication, account-related data, Scavengeabout and image verification only apply to the web app and not the mobile app store version.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information (Web App Only)

• Email Address & Password: If you create an account, we collect your email address. Passwords are securely handled by Firebase Authentication and are not accessible to us.
• Google Sign-In: If you use Google to sign in, we collect your name and email address from your Google account.

2.2 User Inputs

• Location Information (if you choose to use your current location to set a starting point for a Walkabout).
• Selected Interests, Search Radius, & Number of Locations to personalize recommendations.
• Photos Submitted for Scavengeabout activities - processed and verified by OpenAI. (Web App only)

2.3 Tracking Technologies & Device Information

We use tracking technologies to enhance user experience. The following data may be collected:

• Device Information: IP address, operating system, browser type, device model.
• Session Data: Login sessions, timestamps, app preferences.
• Cookies & Analytics: Anonymous usage data (see Sections 4.4 and 5).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

• Provide and improve the App's functionality.
• Personalize user experiences and suggest routes & locations.
• Verify images submitted in Scavengeabout (Web app only).
• Respond to customer support requests.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

We may share information with trusted third-party services:

4.1 Authentication & Storage: (Web App Only)

• Firebase: Used for authentication, data storage, and secure login.

• Google Maps API: Used to generate locations based on user inputs.

• Amplitude Analytics: Collects anonymized app usage data to improve features.

We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or marketing agencies.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Account Data (Web App Only): Retained until the user requests deletion.
• Scavengeabout Photos: Deleted at the end of the session and not stored.
• Analytics Data: Anonymized data is retained indefinitely to support ongoing analysis and product development.

6. Your Rights & Data Requests

6.1 Account Deletion

You can request account deletion at any time by:

• Submitting a request via our Contact Form.

Upon deletion, all personal data, including your email and profile, will be erased.

6.2 Children's Accounts & COPPA Compliance

• The App is not specifically intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in certain regions).
• Parents or guardians can request deletion of a minor's data via our Contact Form.
• We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR-K (for minors in the EU).

7. Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

• Location: To allow you to set your starting point for a Walkabout.
• Camera: To enable photo capturing for scavenger activities.

8. Security Measures

We use the following measures to secure your data:

• All data transmitted between the App and Firebase servers is encrypted using HTTPS and TLS (Transport Layer Security).
• Data stored on Firebase servers is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.

9. AI-Generated Content & Reporting

Our app uses OpenAI in Walkabout generating walking tour content and verifying Scavengeabout images (Web App only).

We provide an in-app reporting tool for flagging inappropriate AI-generated content.

If a violation occurs, we take immediate corrective action.

10. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

• Right to Access – Request a copy of your personal data.
